CALISTRO PRIZE FOR CHILDREN/YA FICTION 2012
RM10,000 prize to be won
SCBWI MALAYSIA is pleased to announce The Calistro Prize for Children/YA fiction 2012. The Prize is aimed at promoting children’s books in Malaysia, written in any of the country’s languages and illustrated by local artists.
The panel of judges, to be announced in October 2012, will be looking for original works that best describes life in Malaysia. Entries may be for picture books, story books, chapter books or YA.
The best entry will be awarded the Calistro Prize and win a prize of RM10,000 and will be published by the Calistro Prize. SCBWI Malaysia will be working with the winner to prepare the manuscript for publication. The winning entry will be published in Bahasa Malaysia and the original language of submission.
The first and second runners-up will be awarded a plaque each and will be offered advice by SCBWI Malaysia on editing their manuscripts to submit for publication.
