The Calistro Prize for Children/YA fiction 2013

The Calistro Prize for Children/YA fiction 2013 is now open for entries, with a total of RM10,000 in cash prizes on offer!
In its second year, the Calistro Prize is aimed at promoting Malaysian stories for children and teenagers written by Malaysian writers. The competition is open to all Malaysians aged 18 and above.

The winning entry this year will receive RM8,000 in cash, a medal, a certificate.

Two merit awards are also up for grabs, each with a cash prize of RM1,000, a medal, and a certificate.

To be eligible for the competition, stories should be original and unpublished works of at least 6,000 words, written in English, set in Malaysia and be Malaysian in content. Translations of original unpublished works are also welcomed.

Only one entry per writer is allowed.

The closing date for entries is September 30, 2013.

An independent panel comprising three judges will select the winning entries. The judging panel will be announced in October, and the results will be announced on Dec 31, 2013.

Entries are only accepted electronically at calistroprize2013@gmail.com. Entries should also include a completed copy of the official entry form, a recent photograph, and a short biography of 200 words. 

The prize is sponsored by Calistro Consultants Ltd, a management consultancy specialising in strategy in over 40 countries (including Malaysia), as part of their commitment to education and the arts.
