Eligibility / Kelayakan
1) Membership for the Society is open to those who have Malaysian citizenship and are made up of two categories;
a. Normal Members
b. Student Members
2) Every applicant for Normal Membership must fulfil these criteria’s;
a. Applicant is a writer or illustrator, either published or unpublished OR those interested in the field of children’s books;
3) Every applicant for Student Membership must fulfil these criteria’s;
a. Aged at least 18 years;
b. A student currently enrolled in school/ university/ college;
4) University or college students will not be accepted for membership of the Society unless written permission is obtained from the Vice Chancellor of the pertaining university or college.
1) Keahlian Pertubuhan mesti terdiri dari warganegara Malaysia dan terdiri dari dua kelas:
a. Ahli Biasa
b. Ahli Pelajar
2) Tiap-tiap permohonan menjadi Ahli Biasa hendaklah memenuhi syarat-syarat berikut:
a. Pemohon merupakan penulis dan illustrator samada pernah diterbit atau tidak atau mereka yang berminat dalam bidang buku kanak-kanak;
3) Tiap-tiap permohonan menjadi Ahli Pelajar hendaklah memenuhi syarat-syarat berikut:
a. Berumur sekurang-kurangnya 18 tahun;
b. Seorang pelajar yang berdaftar di sekolah / university / institusi
4) Seorang pelajar universiti atau kolej universiti tidak boleh diterima menjadi ahli pertubuhan ini kecuali ia telah dibenarkan terlebih dahulu secara bertulis oleh Naib Canselor Universiti yang berkenaan.

You may also join SCBWI at the international level by registering at www.scbwi.org. You will automatically become a member of SCBWI (Malaysia). Please note there is a membership fee for international membership and you will also get more benefits that are not available from a local membership.
